This animation depicts a revision surgery of cervical spine due to failed fusion at the C6-7 level. After retraction and exposure at the C5-C7 levels, previous hardware is removed. Distraction pins are placed at C6 and C7, and the failed cage is removed. The end plates are decorticated and an autograft is harvested from the left iliac crest. The autograft is placed into the C6-7 disc space and fixed with a plate and screws, stabilizing the vertebrae. Medical Animations by Certified Medical Illustrations.
